Clay for All:
Making pottery more accessible
At MUD Ceramics Studio, we believe everyone deserves the chance to get their hands in clay — regardless of income. Creativity is a human need, not a luxury. That’s why we offer a limited number of discounted spots in each session through our Clay for All program. This is a small but heartfelt way we can make our studio more accessible to folks in our community who are drawn to pottery but may not be in a position to afford a class right now. We don’t require proof of income - we trust you to apply if this would truly make a difference for you.
How It Works
A limited number of discounted spots are available per session.
These are sliding-scale or pay-what-you-can rates.
Applicants fill out a short form telling us about themselves and their interest in pottery.
Our team reads every application and selects a small number of recipients based on need and space available.
Applications are reviewed with care and kindness.
Who This is For
This program is intended for people who:
Feel a real pull to explore ceramics
Are experiencing financial hardship, limited income, or other barriers to access
Are committed to showing up and participating fully if selected
Live locally in the Nelson area
Whether you’re a student, single parent, artist, teacher, newcomer, or just going through a tough season — if this would help make pottery possible for you, we hope you’ll apply. Applications are reviewed before each new session (quarterly/seasonally). If you’re not selected right away, we encourage you to apply again in the future.
