Holiday Gift-Making Pottery Club
6 Weeks of Pottery Fun! November 9th - December 14th
Mondays, 3:30–5:30 pm
Ages 8–12
A cozy late-fall pottery club where kids can get creative while making a collection of handmade gifts for the holidays.
Over six weeks, young potters will learn a mix of hand-building, wheel throwing, and decorating techniques while creating a collection of thoughtful, giftable pieces to take home for the holidays.
Projects may include mugs, trinket dishes, ornaments, candle holders, small sculptures and other functional or decorative pieces, with plenty of room for kids to add their own personality and ideas. We’ll also create custom linocut stamps and use them to make handmade cards to pair with their finished gifts.
Students will explore:
✷ Pinching, coiling, slab-building and sculpting
✷ Introductory wheel throwing
✷ Mini-wheel throwing
✷ Stamps, texture rollers, carving and surface decoration - with the special option to create their own unique custom stamps to personalize their gifts
✷ Underglaze painting and glazing
✷ Functional and sculptural pottery
✷ A Maker’s Choice gift, where each student can design something special for a person of their choosing with guidance from their instructor
Returning students are very welcome!
Projects rotate each session, and returning potters will be encouraged to build on their existing skills, experiment with new techniques, and take on more independent or ambitious projects.
By the end of the session, kids will have a collection of handmade pottery ready to wrap up and give away — with a few pieces they may decide are too good to part with.

Maximum 8 students for lots of hands-on instruction and studio time.
Clay, materials, tools, firings and aprons are all included.
Minimum 4 participants required to run the class. If minimum enrolment is not reached, the course may be cancelled and all registrations will be fully refunded.
